Parents and caregivers will work together in a collaborative effort to address barriers that hinder the optimal growth and development of children. Following the Head Start model, the CSS program will aim to educate and support the entire family structure. One component that sets Building Blocks apart from other early education programs is that of family engagement and building a strong community of support for children. The following content areas are included in the lesson planning at the center: Staff will be responsive to children’s current strengths, knowledge, and skills when planning and creating experiences to support learning, while also being cognizant of the background and specific needs of each child. The Utah Core State Standards for Early Learning will guide our work. Each child will be better prepared to enter kindergarten with the necessary skills to thrive and be successful. The program will aid children in developing a sense of personal identity and a sense of their immediate community and cultural diversity. During the enrollment period, applicants will meet with center staff to determine eligibility and pricing.Īs children are enrolled, staff, parents, and caregivers work together as a team to provide opportunities for children to grow in an inclusive, culturally sensitive, safe, and developmentally appropriate setting. By offering financial relief and family support through childcare, our program strives to close the achievement gap in early education.
Blocks nursery for free#
In partnership with United Way of Salt Lake, low-income families are eligible for free or discounted childcare and preschool. The center’s goal is to meet the growth, developmental, and early education needs of children, while fostering quality childcare, and promoting positive relationships in biological, adoptive, and kinship families. At peak capacity serves up to 47 children, ages 6 month to 5 years old. The center has been recently remodeled to create a safe, healthy, and high-quality learning environment.
To provide a warm, nurturing and stimulating environment for children from the ages of 12 months to 5.The On-Campus Day Care Society is a non-profit organization that facilitates the operation of a high quality,ĭevelopmentally appropriate child care programs for students, staff, faculty, and community members at NWP. Present in each room for further guidance and providing opportunity to attend conferences, workshops, andĬourses to keep current with new teachings. We ensure all staff are able to learn and better their knowledge and skills through having a supervisor Qualification Certificate and are certified in First Aid.
